The Broad Street Licensing Group announced today that the license for BURGER KING®-branded salty snacks chips it brokered for their client, Miami-based fast-food giant Burger King, was named “Best Brand Extension of 2008” by the editors of License! magazine. The chips are produced by AZ-based The Inventure Group, licensee for the successful T.G.I. Friday’s line of snacks. Currently three SKUs are on sale domestically and a growing number of countries in South America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Ketchup & Fries and Flame-Broiled were joined recently by BK’s famous and distinctive Onion Rings taste. Carole Francesca, president of Broad Street Licensing, said, "this award shows how an innovative product, the right brand and the right licensing agency can produce a product pegged to reach $50 million in annual sales eventually."
Russ Klein, president, global marketing, strategy and innovation, Burger King Corporation, said, "The line of BURGER KING® snacks has brought the brand into more than 100,000 outlets, a reach far beyond our 11,200 restaurants." |
