Toei Animation will support the Netherlands-Japan Trade Relations Conference with their most successful television properties, including Space Pirate Captain Harlock, Cyborg 009, Digimon Data Squad and Galaxy Express 999. The special conference taking place on February 13 celebrates the four hundred year history of Dutch-Japanese trade relations - the longest sustained relationship between Japan and any Western Nation. The conference will explore the ways in which technological advancements have impacted this key relationship, in particular, the evolution of transport relations and their social, political and legal implications. The animation visuals of the following series from Toei Animation’s extensive program catalogue will be exhibited in the Japanese room of Peace Palace where the conference will be held. Space Pirate Captain Harlock - In 2977 A.C., the earth is facing imminent invasing from alien creatures, the Mazonese. Unaware of the danger, the humans live a soft and debauched life. But Captain Harlock, the space pirate, stands in the way of the invaders. Cyborg 009 - Joe is the 9th member of a team of Cyborgs. He has an acceleration power, and all his teammates also have different special capacities. To gether, they fight against the enemy who jeopardizes the peace on earth. Digimon Data Squad – This series follows the adventures of Marcus and his partner Digimon, Agumon as they challenge the menacing Digimon from the Digital World who intrude the Human World to cause nothing but trouble. For their efforts, the pair is inducted into DATS (Data Squad) a special investigation unit called in to ensure planetary safety. Being a reformed schoolyard punk, Marcus learns to channel his belligerence toward the evil Digimon, and to work as a team to help protect the human world from ruin. Galaxy Express 999 - In year 2XXX, people on earth artificially prolong their life using robot bodies. Tetsuro and his mother live together and are too poor to afford the luxury of mechanical bodies. One night, Tetsuro's mother is killed by a ruthless man hunting mechanical man. He decides to board the spatial train Galaxy Express 999, in search for a mysterious planet where everyone can receive mechanical bodies for free. |
