Independent film and DVD producer Paragon Pictures has launched Osiris Entertainment, an in-house distribution company formed to sell the Paragon’s growing slate of feature films to the global broadcast and home entertainment marketplace. Home entertainment industry executive Heidi Meier has been named Vice President of Distribution for the newly-established distribution arm where she will be responsible for its sales and marketing operations. In addition to handling distribution for Paragon Pictures’ expanding roster of film entertainment, Osiris will also represent releases from independent producers. The new company launches with a diverse slate of film titles along with plans of acquiring two titles per month through 2009. Meier brings to her new position at Paragon/Osiris more than 17 years of sales and marketing experience in home entertainment distribution. She joins the company from Westlake Entertainment, Inc., where she served as General Manager of the independent home entertainment production/distribution company from 2004-2008. In her new role with Osiris Entertainment, Meier will oversee acquisitions and new project development as well as manage all retail marketing campaigns. She will report directly to Paragon Pictures President, Evan Crooke. “We created Osiris Entertainment to serve not only the portfolio of Paragon titles, but also to bring transparency and accountability to the distribution of films from our independent production partners. Because home entertainment will play a key distribution role for Osiris, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Heidi Meier to the company. Heidi brings to Osiris an extensive background in all facets of home entertainment marketing and distribution and we look forward to benefitting from her vast experience and expertise in the industry as we introduce our company throughout the worldwide marketplace,” said Crooke. |
