Explore your own “Wort-Schatz”
This training sparks joy of language and expressiveness

It is well-furnished, but usually lies dormant in the dark: Your mental lexicon may be larger than you think. A new training game of the Think brand by Ravensburger now taps your hidden creative potential. “Wort-Schatz“ (Word Hoard) invites one to six players to enter the word shop, where they play and experiment with words and concepts to their heart’s content.

Any boring conversation can be exciting talk when you use the right language tools. Forget the usual small talk of a first date and really get to know your counterpart; and even a normal meeting with friends can open up new vistas. It is possible to train your „Wort- Schatz“ (Word Hoard) for inspiring communication – playfully with the training of the same name by Ravensburger. US game designer Kathy Jackson developed her new game in compliance with latest findings of brain research. According to research, in most cases passive vocabulary is much larger than active – also in your mother tongue. The best way to leverage your dormant talents is to connect words to visual stimuli: So the latest addition of the Think family relies on the inspiration of images on the gaming board as well as the cards. Always two words make a pair. The outcome may be quite conventionally: The image on the board shows a finger and the card a ring – the result is “ring finger”. Close observers will discover that this piece of jewellery is golden, so they may also yield “gold finger” – which is a much more creative answer. Many players will discover their own expressiveness when playing this game. As here even unusual words gain the recognition they deserve.

Playing with words can be fun: That’s true for training with your family and friends, but also applies for the solo attempt. Just piece together the nine variable pieces of the gaming board and enter the word shop. Turn the first card over and start the challenge. Each card features an image or a letter. All players have six chips each. Now they try and find out whether the image or letter on the card makes a pairs with one of the images next to their chip on the board. Time is short for all players as the first to render a solution move their chip to the next image, but only if their fellow players accept the created word. Best word creator is the player whose chips first reach the finish line.
