Entertainment Rights Plc the UK’s leading global media group specialising in the ownership of children’s and family programming, characters and brands today announces that it has sealed a partnership with leading children’s theatre producer, Premier Stage Productions Ltd to bring to life brand new Postman Pat® Special Delivery Service (SDS) on the stage. The brand new live production will feature characters from the TV series and is set to play at over 45 theatres throughout the UK from Spring 2010. This move into live entertainment further demonstrates the success of this latest iteration of the Postman Pat® brand, showcasing Pat as a dynamic, everyday hero, relevant to today’s parents and pre-schoolers. The deal follows hot on the heels of Postman Pat® returning to screens on CBeebies. The brand new series (26 x 15 minute episodes) which has been sold to over 80 territories worldwide sees everybody’s favourite Postman promoted to Head of the Special Delivery Service, after more than 25 years of selfless dedication and hard work. He is likely to be the hottest ticket in town.” In a spectacular launch to support the new series, Entertainment Rights created a live action event which saw Postman Pat deliver the very first episode of SDS to Michael Carrington, Channel Controller, CBeebies, in a high octane stunt involving a helicopter, HMS Belfast and a dare devil spectacular entrance into BBC TV Centre. The three minute promo was shot on location throughout London and is currently proving a great hit online, gathering thousands of fans in the digital world and within its first week pulled in over 1 million unique users on Sun Online.
