Spring release by TESSLOFF: WAS IST WAS Ernährung

TESSLOFF - March 2009

Are green potatoes toxic?

Why do we have to eat? Which food helps to whip our body into shape? Why are so many people fat, but others go hungry? The new TESSLOFF spring release WAS IST WAS Ernährung (Food) for readers aged 8+ highlights different aspects of this up-to-date topic: On 48 pages the book tells about the human body, the history and processing of food and deals with the question, which food is healthy and which not. A special treat is the double page on the origin of chocolate – from the cocoa bean to the 100g bar. The chapter about world food explains that a rich diet is not a matter of course in some regions of the world. The book is developed in close cooperation with the Institut für Kinderernährung (Research Institute for Child Nutrition) in Dortmund that also provided the meal pyramid illustration to their OptimiX nutrition concept. This colourful graphic illustrates which foods children should eat in plenty and which they should avoid.

Authoress Dr. Sonja Floto-Stammen holds a doctorate degree in nutritional science, has years of experience as marketing director of a large food corporation and now works free-lance as marketing coach for the food industry. She assists with events and gives interviews concerning the important topic nutrition and food.
