In Nuremberg the “specialist for wooden toys” was once more able to convince with classical role play accessories in fresh design
It is not only the professional workmanship that places the traditional handcraft “signature” on Selecta products and makes the company one of the leading wooden toy manufacturers over decades. The company’s success is also based upon the natural material “wood” (mainly from local forests) and, above all, on their innovative and child-appropriate shapes and designs – the promotional key differentiators of all TÜV-approved Selecta products. As a sign of their reliability, Selecta consistently hold onto the values that parents and retailers appreciate so much, and are at the same time always able to come up with new exciting product innovations – naturally made of wood and in Germany. So at the recent Toy Fair, Selecta again presented an independent product portfolio of well-established classic toys spiced-up with new distinctive product innovations.
The fourth time Toy Fair motto of the Bavarian manufacturer again read "Raum für Fantasie" (Space for Imagination), underlining the fact that they themselves see no limits to the possible range of new premium products for playing and learning. However, this time especially the classic toy line benefit from their creative ideas: Selecta provide new incentives and present their traditional products in innovative design, fresh colours and new shapes. Two new role play sets create fantastic “experimental worlds” apart from chips and bits.

Cucina is the new sturdy kitchen centre for little chefs aged 3.5+, tailor-made by Selecta for a comfortable working height of 50-60 centimetres. The cooker imitates a glass ceramic hob, – naturally made of wood! –, and is operated by large turning knobs. The oven opens to remove the baking tray. The miniature kitchen also features a mock-fridge with real bottle shelf. The stainless-steel basin is loosely embedded into the Cucina worktop and can be removed; and the water tap is swivelling – of course …
To stow away standard toy kitchen accessories – Cucina is compatible with customary kitchen toys – Selecta provides an additional cupboard with sliding doors. The extremely sturdy kitchen centre is manufactured by the Inntal-Werkstätten Stiftung Attl, an institution for handicapped people that Selecta has been working with for more than 25 years. |

For all motor-maniac boys and girls Selecta developed their new car park with three floors and many interesting details – in thermo-printing, like all Selecta products. The parking garage provides enough space for lots of small and large cars and features women’s and disabled parking places. And even fast motorcycles find specially marked parking lots to “take a rest”. Those, who prefer the comfortable way and want to avoid the barrier at the drive-up, may well use the elevator to lift their car to the upper parking levels and special parking lots. Just like any other modern city garage this large car park (49 x 52 x 45 cm) has a helipad on top. Another good idea is the mobile car wash with soft felt brushes that perfectly adapts to the individual conditions of the child’s room – and leaves enough space for playful imagination. |

The very classic toy for role play is a doll’s pram that allows little girls to imitate their grown-up idols. The design of the new, large and colourful doll’s pram Paula conveys an unmistakable nostalgic feel. The curved top features an integrated sun roof to let the doll rest in shade on her large bed (58 x 28 cm). Paula rolls silently on wooden wheels with rubber-tyres and comes with a handle in perfect height for children aged 1.5+.
