Company to Showcase First Completed Episodes of Animated Wibbly Pig and ![]() With a vigorous 2009 production schedule well underway, Toronto-based production studio 9 Story Entertainment heads to MIPTV to showcase the first completed episodes of two highly anticipated new projects, the innovative reality series for kids Survive This and the lovable animated series Wibbly Pig. “We are proud to introduce these two new distinctive kids series to international broadcasters,” said Vince Commisso, CEO of 9 Story Entertainment. “We’ve made a firm commitment to bring these properties, and more, from development to production on schedule and we’re confident buyers will share in our excitement over the finished episodes we’re bringing to MIPTV.” Created by 9 Story and wilderness survival expert and filmmaker, Les Stroud, and commissioned by YTV, Canada, Survive This (13 x 22 mins) takes eight 14 to 16 year-olds into the wilderness to survive on their own for three weeks with no food, shelter, Internet or video games! Best known for his hit TV series Survivorman, Les Stroud will serve as their mentor and survivor skill judge. Chosen for their unique personalities and overall adventure readiness, the eight participants will be challenged physically, emotionally and intellectually. Faced with unexpected setbacks, the kids vie for a chance to fulfill self-determined goals that are both personal and inspirational. Wibbly Pig (52 x 10 min.), the new animated comedy series co-produced with Wish Films (UK) and commissioned by the BBC's Cbeebies, TVO and Knowledge Network, features the funny, inquisitive and engaging Wibbly who turns the simplest of daily tasks and activities into a comedy routine. Based on Mick Inkpen's multi-award winning books, Wibbly Pig is set for fall 2009 delivery. 9 Story Entertainment co-distributes the series with BBC Worldwide. |
