Shifting Gears (Volume 3) Named iParenting 2009 Excellent Product

Independent production company Zig Zag are celebrating today after their series Relentlesss was awarded a prestigious Rose d'Or last night in the Best Game show category. Danny Fenton, Managing Director of Zig Zag Productions, was at the Rose d'Or festival in Lucerne, Switzerland, last night to collect his award.

Relentless is an adrenaline fuelled and action packed TV quiz show in which contestants must try and complete a series of challenges correctly to win a cash prize. Those who apply have no idea when the show will begin, or how - they're just told to be on call, await instructions and be ready to act. Each episode features one contestant who is challenged to answer ten questions at anytime over a 48 hour period. Morning, noon or night, they can expect the unexpected as they have no idea when or where they'll be quizzed. Each time they answer a question they will either get closer to a big cash prize or risk leaving with nothing at all. The six part series was shown on Channel 4 earlier this year and Zig Zag is currently seeking sponsorship to fund another series.

Zig Zag won the live pitch at the Edinburgh International Television Festival in 2007 with the idea for Relentless, beating off stiff competition from indies Talkback Thames and Hat Trick Productions. As part of this prize Channel 4 commissioned a TX pilot of the show, and then five more episodes to create a series of six. The format has since attracted been picked up by Prosieben in Germany and Zig Zag is also in discussions with several broadcasters in the US about a North American version. Relentless is distributed by ITV Global Entertainment worldwide excluding the US and UK.

The Rose d'Or is the most prestigious worldwide competition for TV Entertainment and is judged by an international panel of expert judges.
