Belgian media company Studio100 has merged its German subsidiaries Studio100 Media N.V. & Co. KG, EM.Entertainment GmbH and Junior.TV GmbH & Co.KG. Since April 19, 2009 all three companies are now trading under the name of Studio100 Media GmbH. In July 2008 Studio100 took over the children’s and youth entertainment unit of EM.Sport Media AG (now known as Constantin Medien AG) when it acquired EM.Entertainment and Junior.TV GmbH & Co.KG. Studio100 Media, based in Munich, will continue to be active as an international production and distribution company within the children’s and family entertainment sector. The company develops and acquires new formats, participates in co-productions and is also responsible for the worldwide distribution of the Studio100 rights portfolio, as well as third party programming. In marketing its license rights the company pursues a global strategy within various sectors ranging from for example licensing & merchandising, home entertainment through to stage shows. Background: With the acquisition of EM.Entertainment and Junior.TV in July 2008, the Studio100 Group has succeeded in adding sustainable strength to its position as a global marketing organization. EM.Entertainment is one of Europe’s leading producers and distributors of top-class programs for children and young people, with classics such as Maya the Bee (104 x 24 minutes) and Vicky the Viking (78 x 24 minutes), as well as new productions like Master Raindrop (26 x 24 minutes) and Zigby (52 x 11 minutes). Junior.TV operates the children and family-oriented Junior pay-TV channel in Germany via pay-TV provider Premiere. The Junior channel brand will also remain under the Studio100 Media GmbH umbrella. |
