The half-hour program for children, teenagers and families is produced by Australia's Jonathan M. Shiff Productions and co-produced by the Australian broadcaster Network TEN, ZDF and ZDF Enterprises. ZDF Enterprises is responsible for worldwide marketing of all rights (except for Australia and New Zealand) and will launch the third series at MIPCOM 2009 in Cannes. This event will also see the instigation of a new, optimized B2C site for the production, which will be available for licensing in the relevant territories by purchasers of the rights. "H2O - Just Add Water" is among the most successful ZDF and ZDF Enterprises co-productions of recent years and has already won a large number of awards, including the Australian Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award in 2008. Young viewers in 143 countries all around the world are able to enjoy this series, which is broadcast by channels including ZDF, Network TEN and the Disney Channel in Australia, France 2, RTI/Mediaset, Antena 3, Nickelodeon in the USA, Great Britain, France and Spain, Cartoon Network Latin America, Jetix Europe, ORF, YLE, NRK, KBS and TG4. The licensing and merchandising of "H2O - Just Add Water", one of the best-selling product packages, enjoys particular success in Australia, Great Britain, France, Canada, Spain, Italy, Germany, Romania and Benelux, where the whole repertoire of fan items accompanying the program is already on the market. Filming of the third series on the Australian Gold Coast, with 26 new episodes of "H2O - Just Add Water", has recently been completed. In addition to the familiar mermaids played by Cariba Heine (Rikki) and Phoebe Tonkin (Cleo), the talents of Indiana Evans have been secured for the third series. This young Australian star has stepped in to replace Claire Holt (Emma) as the third mermaid. Indiana Evans has achieved fame in Britain and Australia in the series Home and Away, which is broadcast twice daily on Channel 5 and is proving to be increasingly successful. |
