The Licensing Market has long become a fixed date in the schedule of licensing events throughout Europe. But when it comes to content the event is far from firmly fixed: Of course, the initiators and organisers – i.e. the LIMA Germany – always seek to optimize the show. After all, LIMA Germany wants to offer more than just the perfect opportunity to build the social networks that are so essential in licensing industry. Exciting seminars provide comprehensive information; top class speakers give new impulse and fresh ideas; experts deliver insights into the licensing market and prospects of future licensing hits. And of course, there is the annual presentation of the coveted Lima Germany Awards to acknowledge the industry’s best. Lima Germany still needs to finalise the programme; but the show will definitely be an exciting event and something to look forward to – just as usual. “We are thrilled by the great interest the Licensing Market 2009 attracts. Even now our showrooms are almost fully booked,” said Heike Winner, responsible event manager and managing director, LIMA Germany. “To me is a great success, that more and more licensees take an interest in the Licensing Market. This year the Fipo Group, Sun Decoration, Foreign Media, Kaufmann Neuheiten, Baros and many other manufacturers will present their licensed products. Thus we increase the focus on retail and promote the idea of displaying the whole chain of licensing from the idea to the product.” Major licensors including Bavaria Sonor, The Licensing Company, MTV Nickelodeon, Euro Lizenzen, M4e, glam, CTM, MM MerchandisingMedia, Telepool, Fremantle Licensing, Studio 100 have already booked their show rooms and info-points to introduce their latest acquisitions and developments. Also Warner Bros., Super RTL, WDR and ZDF will be on the floor. What is more, The Licensing Market may again rely on top-class media support with media partners like W&V, BRANDORA, Das Spielzeug and LICENSING PRESS. There’s not only great response among exhibitors – Germany’s Marketplace of Licenses also receives remarkable financial support from major companies including Fipo Group, TV Mania, ZDF and Super RTL. However, November and The Licensing Market are still a long way off. On 2-4 June the LIMA accompanies a VIP delegation of top-class manufacturers to the Licensing Show in Las Vegas, and on 29 June LIMA Germany invites their members to the “Paulaner im Tal” in Munich for “Member Info & Networking”.
