FremantleMedia Enterprises Inks More Deals For Global Brand Rebecca Bonbon

Brandora Editorial Staff - June 2009

FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) today announced more licensing deals for Rebecca Bonbon, the design property from Hello Kitty creator Yuko Shimizu. German licensing company Trend Import and French apparel group AdventureLand have taken the brand on board to create a range of products targeted at young women. The fashion and lifestyle brand has been piquing the interest of licensees around the globe and these latest deals come on the heels of agreements with Alpa, one of the leading stationery and accessory licensees in France, Townley Cosmetics in North America, and Brazilian licensing agent Faresak, announced earlier this year.

Trend Import, a leading German producer and distributor of licensed goods, will be launching at least 20 Rebecca Bonbon products for females 14+ and the first samples will be presented in Frankfurt in July this year. Trend Import’s range includes stationery, home textiles, fashion bags and accessories and gifts, and other licenses they hold include Disney’s High School Musical, Ed Hardy, Pip Studio, and Victoria Frances.

AdventureLand, a leading apparel manufacturer, distributor and retailer will be producing a range of branded clothing and will be using their expertise to make Rebecca Bonbon a major fashion brand in France. They work with sports brand Airness, Smiley World, and Lulu Castagnette, as well as producing apparel lines for the Christian Audigier and Ed Hardy brands in the US. The first apparel collection will hit the market in France in fall/winter 2009 at selected retailers.

Rebecca is an adorable French bulldog with a penchant for shopping and sweets. Whilst still a pup, a young American girl fell in love with the cutie on a visit to Paris and took her to live in New York City. Rebecca enjoys the finer things in life: she adores fresh flowers and all sorts of fancy accessories. What she loves most however are sweet bonbons in every flavour. In fact, she loves them so much that she has become affectionately known by the name Rebecca Bonbon!

Rebecca Bonbon will be a major focus for FME at the 2009 International Licensing Show. The company will have a dedicated branded area on their stand to showcase products, a presence in the daily fashion shows which will feature four AdventureLand outfits, and a special appearance from Yuko Shimizu who will be giving away an original autographed hand drawing of Rebecca Bonbon.
