Toei Animation´s My Three Daughters Receives Award Nomination For Upcoming Annecy International Additionally, Niji Iro Hataro Will Be Honored as a Feature Work in Progress
Toei Animation Co., Ltd’s property, My Three Daughters has been nominated for an animation award at this year’s Annecy International Film Festival. In addition, the film, Niji Iro Hataro will be honored as a feature work in progress which also takes place in Annecy, France. The announcements were made today by Kanji Kazahaya, Director of the International Department for Toei Animation Co., Ltd.
My Three Daughters The goofy eldest daughter Foo-chan is a starry-eyed dreamer who drives her mother nuts all the time. The second daughter, Soo-chan’s, pet phrase is “Why not?” and everything she hears goes in one ear and out the other – she’s the perpetual free spirit! Then there’s the guzzler with a bottomless appetite -- the third daughter, Chi-chan. She keeps begging for more no matter how much she eats! This series reveals the delightful and exciting life of the Matsumoto family and their three daughters!
Niji Iro Hataro Niji Iro Hataro follows the adventures of a young boy named Yuta. His story is sentimental and one that all people can relate to. Yuta tragically looses his father in a traffic accident and goes to a dam in his village that reminds him of good memories of his father. Under the dam, one village sleeps called “Miyamai-mura”. While at the dam one day, Yuta meets a strange old man from the village who takes Yuta back in time 30 years where no buses or cars existed. Yuta enjoys the summer days with his new friends from Miyamai-mura. Yuta’s summer fun is interrupted when the Miyamai-mura sinks under water during the dam’s reconstruction.
The Annecy International Film Festival will take place June 8-13, 2009 in Annecy, France. Annecy International has showcased the industry’s best animation for over 45 years and is known for being the most competitive international festival. Established in 1960, the annual festival screens feature films, short films, commissioned and TV Films and graduation films. The festival also includes film premieres, retrospectives and exhibitions.
This year’s animation film market, MIFA, will take place in Annecy from June 10-12.
