The classic cult character comes in fresh new design.

For more than 80 years Walt Disney’s Mickey Mouse has been a global icon. Inspired by the original character from 1928, Disney Consumer Products (DCP) has developed a comprehensive collection of gift items in cooperation with Disney’s licensee Heunec. The new product line for young and not-so-young Disney fans is now available at Amazon.de and Metro department stores throughout Germany and includes stationery, pencil cases and pencils, key ring pendants, photo frames and soft toys.

The collection has been designed by the DCP Stationery Team in Germany. “In the course of the current retro trend, the first Mickey Mouse from Steamboat Willie has become an absolute cult character. Now the new Disney collection revives the original Mickey Mouse with a perfect combination of classic, contemporary and fresh design. The new line forms a symbiotic relationship of tradition and innovation” , said Sandra Metz-Prechtel, Category Manager, Toys, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, DCP. The new design has been created by DCP graphic artists team under Franziska Bauer, Senior Manager, Regional Product Development Stationery: “We bring well-known classic Mickey Mouse into the 21st century. We deliberately toyed with opposites in design and materials to create an exciting and fresh overall product. So the world-famous mouse in black-and-white has become a beautiful contrast to the dominating colours lemon green and violet", said Franziska Bauer.

The style guide has been developed by local designers and thus tailor-made for the current trends on the German gift items market. Products from the categories home, toys and fashion have been realized in cooperation with licensee Heunec. The collection was first introduced at the 2009 International Toy Fair and thrilled trade visitors on the floor.
