The range is limited to 70 pairs produced across all 4 colours, and retails at £228 per pair. One pair of shoes has been on display at the London Cartoon Museum. The idea for limiting the range to 70 pairs came from the fact that The Beano celebrated its Seventieth anniversary last year when Angeline first started work on the range.
Ian Downes, Director, Start Licensing, comments; “Beano cartoon wedges are the perfect fit for our on-going licensing strategy to enhance the bold and adventurous spirit of this iconic brand through fun and innovative products. With Angeline Tournier’s expertise together with an extremely committed team at DC Thomson, we are confident The Beano fans will respond well to these highly original shoes and they will also appeal to those who want to wear something that is really exclusive.”
Angeline Tournier, Shoe Designer, comments; “Dennis the Menace is an iconic brand and I was proud to work with DC Thomson and Start Licensing to create an original design reflecting Dennis the Menace’s cheeky humour.” |
