Mexico’s # 1 Broadcaster to Televise the Live Action Series Three Times a Week

Televisa, the Mexican multimedia conglomerate and the largest media company in the Spanish-speaking world has set August 17, 2009 for the premiere date of the Adness Entertainment-produced live action series, Kamen Rider Dragon Knight. Televisa, which licensed the series in 2008, will air the series Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30-4:00PM on Mexico’s # 1 kids’ network Channel 5.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight follows the heroic adventures of teenager Kit Taylor, who discovers a mysterious deck of Advent Cards that grant him the power to transform into an ancient armored warrior called a Kamen Rider. He joins his comrade, Kamen Rider Wing Knight, to battle the alien renegade warlord, General Xaviax, and his army in both the real world and an alternate reality called Ventara, or the Mirror World.

Kamen Rider Dragon Knight is based on the original series, “Kamen Rider Ryuki,” produced by Toei Company and aired in Japan in 2002. “Kamen Rider” written by Shotaro Ishinomori, is the most popular and successful live-action series for kids in Japan of all time. First introduced in Japan in 1971, it is still a top rated show after 37 years and counting. It has spawned an unprecedented number of television and theatrical sequels.

“Televisa is the latest of the top broadcasters within the global television community to make Kamen Rider an important part of their kids’ line-up,” said Daniel Castaneda, VP of International Sales. “We are delighted to be working with them and look forward to the series’ upcoming launch.”

The broadcast line-up for Kamen Rider Dragon Knight already includes The CW4Kids in the United States, MediaSet in Italy, Venevision in Venezuela, Caracol in Colombia, and TV Globo in Brazil where the series just made its June 29 premiere during the Monday-Saturday TV Globinho morning block.
