  • Viacom Brand Solutions International (VBSI) has partnered with the European Union (EU) and their media agency Carat to launch MTV Smoke Screen - an online anti-smoking campaign targeted at European youth.
    The online campaign will follow 10 young people on their quest to quit smoking. The campaign comprises a dedicated website www.mtv-smokescreen.com, available in 22 languages which will showcase video diaries and daily status updates, creating a real content platform for European youth to share and discover the realities and challenges of quitting smoking. There is also a competition, through which tickets to the prestigious MTV Europe Music Awards 2009 (EMAs) in Berlin can be won.

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) will skid into this year’s Brand Licensing Europe clutching a portfolio bursting with hit properties and iconic brands, and a fistful of brand spanking new licensing deals across the region.
  • Germany
    NVCP in Germany has just inked a brand new two-year deal with local company, Public Solution, which will see the launch of a SpongeBob SquarePants ‘Yvio’ board game aimed at kids from +8 years old and their families. ‘Krosse Krabbe Express’, which includes an interactive board, memory card with software, plus 3D figurines, can be played by 2-4 people and will be available at all toy shops throughout Austria, Germany and Switzerland from 14 October.
    • NVCP Germany has received four LIMA nominations including: ‘Best Overall License of the Year’ for SpongeBob Schwammkopf (SpongeBob SquarePants); ‘Best Licensing Product of the Year’ for the SpongeBob Schwammkopf DHL parcel set; ‘Best Promotion of the Year’ for the team’s SpongeBob Schwammkopf deal with Tank und Rast and finally, the MTV brand has been nomination ‘Best Brand / VIP / Sports Brand of the Year’.
  • Poland, Latvia, Lithuania
    NVCP has signed it’s first-ever, two-year, stationery deal in Poland for Dora the Explorer. A partnership with Pentra Sp will see Dora the Explorer branded notebooks, crayons, school bags, paints and much more, launching across the market, as well as Balkan territories Latvia and Lithuania, over the next two years.
  • Scandinavia & the Baltics
    NVCP has partnered with Backemarks Grafiska, one of Northern Europe’s leading greeting card and stationery manufacturers, to produce a range of SpongeBob SquarePants branded stationery. The two-year deal will see notebooks, rucksacks and pencil cases available at all good book store chains, as well as local retail outlets such as Bokia, JB-Gruppen, Ugglan, COOP and ICA Kvantum stores across Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, from this Autumn.
