The Licensing Agency once more prove their nose for successful preschool properties

4-year-old Caillou is an inquisitive boy who always discovers something new. He and his loving family experience adventures every day. Together with Caillou, boys and girls aged between 2 and 6 discover the world, learn about their feelings and understand how to cope with life’s challenges. The series takes a whole new approach to family values underlining the importance of treating each other with care.

The popular license from Cookie Jar already enjoys a high level of awareness throughout Germany. Caillou´s strong presence on Super RTL with high rating figures and market shares of up to 70% within the target group (3-13-years-olds) offers great opportunities for licensing products. Carlsen Verlag as well as Panini Books Books already provide kids with great reading stuff in wonderful story books, mini books and magazines. Universum has sold more than 1.3 million DVDs and audio books which makes Caillou one of the most successful home entertainment properties in Germany so far. Famosa offers a wide collection of toys including figurines, trains and tractors. The colourful range of Caillou products is available at Toys”R”Us, Otto, Baur, Mytoys and different online shops.

The new style guide features dinosaurs, nature, football and nautical elements. “It’s like Caillou reads preschool children’s minds with his curious questions”, said Gerold Kolenbrander, managing director from Copyright Promotions Licensing Group Germany. “In addition to existing products and successful concepts, the new style guide offers additional opportunities to create wonderful new products and make Caillou a steady companion throughout the year.”

Caillou made his CPLG debut at this year’s Licensing Market in Munich, Germany. Together with his CPLG licensed friends Snoopy, Bert & Ernie, Strawberry Shortcake, Garfield and the Pink Panther, a larger-than-life Caillou character entertained visitors and brought smiles to the lips of everyone who saw them. The Licensing Market Show revealed that the global licensing market remains stable even in times of economic crisis. “The main reason why is our modern consumer society. Pleasing our children is one of our top priorities. So consumers keep on buying licensed products their kids like”, stated Gerold Kolenbrander.
