Comarex acquires Telepool’s ‘The Wild Soccer Bunch’ Films

Mexican distributor Comarex has acquired several great soccer films from leading European film and television distribution company Telepool GmbH.

The deal encompasses the Latin American rights for the feature films - The Wild Bunch: Beastly Beasts Attacking (94 minutes), The Wild Bunch: The Silver Lights Attack (111 minutes) and The Wild Bunch: Beyond The Horizon (107 minutes).

Produced by SamFilm GmbH Munich, Ewa Karlstrom and Andreas Ulmke-Smeaton all three family films are directed and based on the bestselling books by German author Joachim Masannek.

Joachim Masannek was born in 1960 in Hamm and studied German, Philosophy, and Film in Munich. Since 1985, he has worked as a production designer, lighting technician, cameraman and author. After working on various animation projects, he wrote the children's book Die Wilden Fussballkerle based on the soccer team he founded in Munich. His films include ‘Bomber’ (1992), ‘In Liebe, Catherine’ (1992), ‘Der Baer’ (1992) and all five of ‘The Wild Soccer Bunch (Die Wilden Kerle)’ films.

When the soccer match between the national team and the Wild Soccer Bunch ends up rock bottom 25:1, they split up and take up other interests.

All of a sudden Fabi comes up with a new team: the beastly beasts. And they dare call themselves the world's wildest soccer team. The Wild Soccer Bunch is up against their greatest challenge so far, an opponent more devious, more dangerous, more diabolical, more than even they had ever imagined - girls!!! And if it weren't for Nerv, their greatest fan, the wildest of all showdowns would not be happening.

After the victory over the Beastly Beasts, the Wild Soccer Bunch was in top form and won all of their following matches. But they need one more victory to get the "Pott", the freestyle soccer trophy. And to get it, they have to beat the Ragnarök Wolves. But the Wolves are no ordinary opponents. They have a dark secret - and in the background lurks a certain power that is stronger than all of them: a clever girl named Horizon and the Silver Lights in mist. Marlon falls hopelessly for Horizon. She, however, has one simple goal: to pull Marlon and Leon apart. Will the Wild Soccer Bunch be able survive one of the greatest challenges of their lives?

Leon and Vanessa have finally fallen in love, and swear eternal loyalty. But just one day later, Leon is gone. Has he deserted her, or been kidnapped? To find him the Wild Soccer Bunch travel to the horizon and beyond - to the Shadow Realm. During the day, everything there is just rocks and dust, but at night, vampires dwell! They have lured Leon here and now eagerly await his friends. Vanessa almost succumbs to the allure of their leader, Darkside, and must learn the vampire's secret to discover how to overcome them and win back her love, for the vampires are turned to stone in sunlight - just as Leon was turned to stone trying to escape. Only true love can bring him back to life now. An ultimate soccer battle takes place to free him, between dark and light, good and evil.
