A jolly octopus, pizza oven, Star Wars lightsaber and super speedy roller skates are among the 34 Best New Toys for 2010 unveiled at the Toy Fair this morning by BTHA (British Toy & Hobby Association) Chairman Roger Dyson. The 57th UK Toy Fair opened today at the Grand Hall, Olympia in London and runs until Thursday 28 January.
UK companies Vivid Imaginations and Flair Leisure Products celebrated three product listings each alongside toy giant Hasbro. Bandai, Character Options, Golden Bear, Lego and Spin Master were all rewarded twice on the Best New Toys 2010 list. Licensed toys once again faired well with brands such as Ben 10, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, In the Night Garden, Iron Man, Little Kingdom, Star Wars and Thomas and Friends across the categories.
The Toy Fair Best New Toys 2010 were voted across 11 categories by a panel of expert toy retailers. A display of all 34 toys can be found at Toy Fair on stand C26. Photographs are available at www.bastion.co.uk.

“180 exhibitors will launch thousands of amazing new toys, games and hobbies to retailers and the press at Toy Fair over the next three days,” commented BTHA Fairs and Events Manager Simon Pilling.
“With so much to see, the question on everyone’s lips is always ‘which will be on Santa’s shopping list at Christmas?’ Well, the Toy Fair Best New Toys 2010 aim to answer that very question by inviting a panel of independent toy retailers to highlight the products most likely to be massive in 2010. Of course, Toy Fair wishes not only the winners – but all of our exhibitors – great success over the coming months.” |
