Company Secures Distribution Rights to Galleon Entertainment’s Multi-Platform Intergalactic Soccer Franchise, Sokator-442 Executive production and distribution company Bejuba! Entertainment has signed an agreement with UK content developer Galleon Entertainment to distribute the TV, online and DVD rights to the multi-platform Sokator-442 franchise, which currently consists of a 75 minute animated movie, online interactive game and TV game show. The movie will also be distributed by Galleon’s co-production partner, PolyBona in China and South East Asia, where it will be released as a feature. Sokator-442 is a science fiction soccer fantasy targetted to 6-12’s which first launched as an online multi-player intergalactic football management game in 2009. The online game is part of the multi-platform strategy that incorporates a live action TV game show and animated movie. The animated movie will be available by mid-May for airing to coincide with the World Cup. Bejuba! will introduce the 75 min animated movie to buyers at the Kidscreen Summit in February. The feature is being produced by London based Zoo Films with animation by China based Sandman Animation Studios. “The Sokator concept is a truly unique and exciting experience that translates into a winning event for television and, indeed, today’s entertainment arena,” says Bejuba! Entertainment’s, Tatiana Kober. “Each element complements the other to bring a truly 360 degree concept to children. The idea is to keep the online game fresh with movies, and then get the kids really vested in Sokator by participating in a unique multi-media TV game show. We are thrilled to be working with Galleon to bring this entertaining content to international broadcasters who are seeking to deliver the same excitement as the online game and just in time to build on the excitement of the highly anticipated World Cup.” Galleon’s Sokator-442 (www.sokator442.com) launched in May 2009 and has already attracted over 65,000 registered players. It is a multi-player intergalactic soccer management game where kids manage alien soccer teams and compete against other kids in a league structure. Unlike other browser-based games that are heavily text-based, Sokator-442 uses rich dynamic graphics that illustrate the alien soccer matches in an animated comic-strip style. Stephen Green, CEO of Galleon Holdings, said: ‘We are very excited to work with Bejuba! Entertainment as we believe that they will ensure the global distribution of this unique multi-platform entertainment property.’ |
