Target Entertainment Group hires Richard Woolf as director of licensing

Helen Howells takes up new role as commercial director

Target Entertainment Group has bolstered its licensing team with the hiring of Richard Woolf as director of licensing.

Woolf will report to Helen Howells who was recently promoted to commercial director.

In her new role Howells is tasked with strengthening the collaboration between Target’s TV distribution and consumer rights teams. She will have particular responsibility for the management of children’s TV sales, in addition to managing the home entertainment and licensing divisions. She will also continue to handle the master toy and publishing categories.

Woolf will take responsibility for all other licensing categories and will be tasked with expanding Target’s current international licensing business.

Like Howells, whose previous roles include senior positions at 4Kids Entertainment and S4C International, Woolf has experience of the TV market as well as licensing. Prior to joining Target he was director of international licensing at kid’s channel Jetix, European licensing director at 4Kids Entertainment and spent over 12 years at Warner Bros.

Helen Howells said: “I’m thrilled to be working with Richard again and delighted that an executive of his calibre has joined the Target team. While his primary focus will be to further grow the licensing division his understanding of the TV business will be an asset as Target continues to develop cross platform brands like Sky Babies and Brit Chicks”.
