  • MTV Networks International today confirmed the 2010 date for its hit Summer concert, 'Isle of MTV Malta Special' for 30th June. The free open air concert will take place in the spectacular Il Fosos Square in Floriana on the beautiful island of Malta in front of 50,000 people. Now in its 4th consecutive year, Isle of MTV Malta Special is unique in offering young people across Europe an exclusive opportunity to experience some of the world’s best new and established artists in the sunshine of Malta. Past artists have included The Black Eyed Peas, Lady Gaga, Enrique Iglesias, One Republic, N.E.R.D. amongst others.
    One of the highlights of MTV’s European summer music scene – and one of the coolest and most eclectic outdoor live music events, the 30th June Isle of MTV Malta concert promises to yet again be this Summer's must-see event.
  • HP and MTV have teamed up to launch a new pro-social campaign urging young people to join the green revolution and let their voices be heard. A "Your Planet, Your Pledge" competition spot will air on MTVs across Europe (UK, Italy, Germany and France), Asia (India, China), Australia and Latin America (excluding Brazil) from 8 – 21 February. Local language websites went live on 4 February (www.mtvyourplanet.com).
    The "Your Planet, Your Pledge" campaign urges participants to write a pledge of 100 words or less on how to make a difference for the planet in 2010! The most inspiring pledge in each of the four regions will win HP Pavilion dm3 Notebooks, PLUS, a chance to win the amazing grand prize – the trip of a lifetime for 2 people to Sydney, Australia* to meet British adventurer and environmentalist David de Rothschild and see the Plastiki project**. The winner of the grand prize will be announced by 27 March 2010.

  • UK Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) in the UK is announcing two brand new licensing deals for two of its biggest properties, iconic animation, SpongeBob SquarePants and live action show, iCarly:
    • NVCP has signed a three-year deal with A4T, one of the UK’s leading producers of videogame accessories, to create a SpongeBob SquarePants range of computer console accessories aimed at boys and girls from 5 to 18 years of age. The range includes games cases, console cases, controller accessories for PSP, Wii, DS Lite, PS3, XBox. A4T is currently in discussion with all major UK video games retailers including Game, Gamestation, HMV and Asda for a product launch in Summer 2010. The deal will run until December 2012.
    • NVCP UK is partnering with Danilo, the market leader for official licensed calendars, to produce a paper product range for leading tween property iCarly. Aimed at 6-12 year old girls the range includes calendars, greeting cards, gift bags and gift wrap. The range initially rolled out in January 2010 in WH Smiths, and will roll out in other national retail outlets from April 2010. The deal will run to December 2011.
