  • France
    As Europeans start thinking about 2010 Summer holidays, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) in France has signed Videojet for a Dora the Explorer console game for pre-school children. The educational travel game will launch across France and Benelux countries in mass market and specialist retailers as part of a deal that runs until the end of 2012.
  • UK
    NVCP in the UK has signed two brand new deals for leading pre-school property Dora the Explorer and iconic character SpongeBob SquarePants.
    • Little Star Creations is set to deliver children’s headphones and magnetic height charts to retail this spring, including Toys R Us nationwide. The deal, which runs until March 2010, follows a similar contract for SpongeBob SquarePants. The Dora the Explorer product targets girls aged 2 - 5 years, while the SpongeBob SquarePants product is aimed at girls and boys aged 4 – 7 plus.
    • New SpongeBob SquarePants torches and bubble makers from Britepower are launching at retail this Spring as part of a deal that runs to mid-2012. The practical and fun play products are targeted at girls and boys from 5 - 12 years old.

Programme Sales

  • MTV Networks International announces that broadcast sales of Dora the Explorer continue rolling out across Europe and beyond with new deals signed with TSR, the French language Swiss channel, and with TG4 in the Republic of Ireland.
    • New series of Dora have been signed with 365 Media in Iceland, TV4 in Sweden and with Ecuavisa in Ecuador.
    • Among other outstanding animation series, Emmy award-winning Back at the Barnyard has been picked up by MTV Oy in Finland; TV3 in Catalunya, Spain and by TG4 in Ireland.
    • Meanwhile, evergreen Fairly Odd Parents is seeing revived interest with a new deal in Panama on FETV.
