The Women in Toys Association (WIT), a leading not for profit organisation recognising and promoting the achievements of women in the toy, licensing and entertainment industries, today announces the appointment of Helen Howells, Commercial Director, Target Entertainment and Louise Drabwell, Managing Director, Rare Communications as Co-Chairs in the UK. The two new chairs will be tasked with building on the success in the UK to date and developing WIT into the ‘must-have’ membership within the industry. Helen and Louise will assume their posts with immediate effect. WIT offers an opportunity for industry people to meet leading executives and entrepreneurs in the toy, entertainment, and licensing industries; attend networking events; increase their profile and keep up-to-date with news via the WIT website. The dates for the three key networking events in the UK will be announced shortly. Helen Howells is a well respected and recognised figure within the industry and extremely well placed to take the position as co-chair. Helen is currently Commercial Director at Target Entertainment where she heads up the company’s commercial activities across kids TV sales, Home Entertainment and Licensing. Previous to this Helen was Commercial Director at 4kids Entertainment. Louise brings a wealth of expertise in the PR and marketing sector and founded Rare Communications in 2003, which has grown into one of the top agencies in the kids, youth and brand licensing sectors. Prior to establishing Rare, she held the position of Head of PR, Fox Kids Europe, the leading children’s entertainment brand. Both Helen and Louise combine business and motherhood.
