Target Entertainment Group continues to expand the licensing programmes for individual PlayStation IPs (Intellectual Properties) with the announcement of several new deals across a number of games. Impact International has signed a deal for a range of products based on the action adventure game Ratchet and Clank®, including plush, beanies, keychains and bobbleheads. Impact will also develop figurines from Buzz!™, the original interactive, social quiz show game and one of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s biggest franchises across the EMEA territories. The licenses for both IPs cover the UK, Eire and the Middle East. Games Media Ltd will develop SWP (skills with prizes) games for digital entertainment terminals, also based on Buzz!™. The deal covers the UK and Eire and terminals will be located exclusively in pubs, pool halls and arcades. |
Licensing interest in PlayStation’s older-skewing action games is also starting to build. DC Comics has signed a worldwide deal to produce figurines based on the epic action combat game Killzone®, while In France, Talents Distribution has signed a license for apparel and accessories based on the mighty action adventure franchise God of War®,. The merchandise rollout for God Of War will coincide with the much anticipated release of God of War III, the last game in the trilogy.
Richard Woolf, director of licensing at Target Entertainment Group, added: “Such a broad range of deals across different product categories and IPs shows that interest in PlayStation is really starting to build among licensees.”
