LIMA Germany holds the seventh “Day of Licenses” in Cologne/h3> LIMA Deutschland - March 2010

Informative, professional und well attended

The tried and true remains unchanged. So LIMA Germany once again invited the industry to Cologne. About 600 visitors came to follow a fine tradition and celebrate the seventh Day of Licenses at the Tanzbrunnen. For the seventh year in a row 25 first-class licensees and licensing agents presented themselves at the highly informative annual industry event with its usual perfect networking opportunities.

“It is always exciting to watch a full presentation of the industry’s latest developments and witness how market players creatively boost their innovative ideas“, said Thomas Gattermann, Product Manager, idee und spiel. “The day provides high information density, but most of all it is the top class attendance that makes the LIMA Day of Licenses an absolute must-attend event.“ You often hear positive responses like that when talking to the visitors after a long day of presentations and talks. Peter Boder, United Labels, praised the LIMA’s professional approach: “Year after year we experience a well-balanced combination of presentation and communication here in Cologne – the perfect atmosphere for networking and contact making.”

Doris Berlemann, representative of LIMA Germany member Ernsting’s Family, is pleased with the chance to meet countless agencies and licensors: “The Day of Licenses provides the ideal background to meet our demand for information and visionary ideas. It is a perfect opportunity to cultivate existing relationships and make new contacts.”

Retail was well represented with affiliated LIMA companies like KIK, idee und spiel, Toys "R" Us, Vedes, Metro and many others. A total of 25 licensors and agencies presented their strongest properties, latest innovations and successful promotion and marketing campaigns to a top-class audience: An overview of international brands, characters, celebrities, and licensed properties from entertainment, TV, movies, and sports. Visitors took a day tour through the ever-changing world of licensing, brightly coloured by major market players such as Super RTL, Mattel, CTM, Bavaria Sonor, m4e, TLC, Walt Disney, Warner Bros. and ZDF Enterprises, who pictured the market from preschool licensing to adult properties.

“We are proud that our ‘Day of Licenses’ is so well-received by the industry, retail partners and licensors“ said Heike Winner, Managing Director, LIMA Germany. “To date, LIMA Germany provides more than 250 members and affiliated companies with different networking events and business opportunities. In addition to our two major events in Cologne and Munich, other LIMA activities like the retail journey to Saint Petersburg and a trip to the licensing show in Las Vegas have also met enthusiasm.“

The event owes its continuous success and positive atmosphere mostly to the dedication of their renowned sponsors: A big thanks to DFL Sports Enterprises, Ehapa, Fipo Group, Pez, RTL II, Seven One AdFactory, Super RTL, TV Mania, United Labels and ZDF Enterprises.

After a long day of information and business making, more than 500 LIMA Germany members indulged in delicious titbits in the wonderful atmosphere of the traditional LIMA Spring Festival at Cologne’s Wolkenburg. And this year more than ever attendees went over the past in their memory as LIMA Germany celebrates their tenth anniversary – a perfect opportunity to look back on past experiences, events and achievements.
