Brand new property to present its first episodes at MIPTV 2010

Three leading animation and distribution houses from Korea, Spain and the UK have come together to co-produce and distribute the CGI/animation and live action kids property Canimals. Aardman is joining forces with VOOZCLUB and Screen 21 – BRB’s creative Boutique – on this original TV series which will debut at MIPTV.

Canimals (52x7’) features the high energy adventures of several can-shaped, CGI animals –- and the mischief that they get up to in the real, live action world. The TV series shows the world from the perspective of some very peculiar characters that find something new and worthy of attention in each and every object. Whether they are playing in the kitchen, the garden, the school yard or the greenhouse nothing quite ever goes according to plan for the Canimals, they are just too curious and too boisterous for their own good.

Aardman will lead the scripting and voices for the series while VOOZCLUB and BRB will manage the design, animation and sound production. The three companies will be talking to potential partners for the project in order to premiere the series end of 2010.

Aardman’s Head of Broadcast Miles Bullough says: “As soon as we saw Canimals we knew we wanted to be involved. It is exactly the kind of property that we like to participate in – quirky, original, distinctive, funny, cute (without being too soft) and very high quality. The timing and design of the test animation that VOOZCLUB produced was outstanding. We are looking forward to working with VOOZCLUB and BRB to bring the project to the UK broadcast and licensing markets.”

CEO of VOOZCLUB Calvin Kim remarks: “Canimals is very unique with unusual characters which we ever seen before. It's going to be shown through various kinds of new media, starting with TV. Besides, the cooperation with Aardman and BRB will introduce new business paradigm.”

BRB’s Executive VP Carlos Biern adds: “All of us are already working on the launch of a brand for the long term – totally innovative and global in scope. When you have three of the most creative teams in the animation business working together the only word you can expect is SUCCESS.”
