Warner Bros. holds the licences of hit tv series “Gossip Girl” and “Vampire Diaries”

Warner Bros. is holding the licenses of two of the hippest current TV series: “Vampire Diaries” and “Gossip Girl” are running with high success on German television, affecting the lives and fashion style of local teenagers.

From the creator behind “Scream” and “I know what you did last summer” comes the hot new trend in the market of vampire love stories: “Vampire Diaries” shows that High School romances can be hard – and even harder with one thousand year old vampires fighting for your affection. Two of them - one good and one evil – are competing for the love and soul of the beautiful and innocent young Elena (Nina Dobrev).

Screenwriter Kevin Williamson created an absorbing and fantastic story based on the books of L. J. Smith, starring “Lost”-Star Ian Somerhalder as the blood-minded vampire and Paul Wesley as his abstinently living brother. The series also went strong at the People’s Choice Award, winning the “Favorite New TV Drama” 2010.

They are beautiful and they have it all - the latest fashion, the coolest parties and the hottest guys: the Upper East Side clique. The award-winning hit series “Gossip Girl“ shows how the it-girls in the posh Upper East Side of Manhattan are living: it is all about gossip, intrigues and the latest design labels. Already cult, the series is creating the fashion trends of the future.

The teen drama is based on the bestselling novel series written by Cecily von Ziegesar. The 13 volumes remained on the New York Times bestseller list for more than 400 weeks and sold more than 5.6 million copies.

Pro Sieben is airing the first eleven episodes of “Vampire Diaries” at prime time every Wednesday (9.15 p.m) and the second season of “Gossip Girl – the TV series“ Sundays at 11 a.m. “Vampire Diaries” and “Gossip Girl” are two of the TV highlights this year and fit all requirements to become top-sellers in merchandising as well.
