Chorion names Marathon Media French Licensing Agent and Brand Manager for the World of Eric Carle

Chorion has appointed Marathon Media as the Merchandising & Licensing Agent for France. The two companies will work closely together to develop the strategy for the licensing programme for The World of Eric Carle in France. Paris based children’s entertainment organization will manage the all French licensing opportunities based on the designs created by Eric Carle and particularly, The Hungry Caterpillar.

The World of Eric Carle is a contemporary classic brand for infants and young children. The brand embodies the joys of playful learning and an appreciation of art and nature that generations have experienced through Eric Carle's timeless stories and unique artwork. A prolific author and artist, Eric Carle has written and illustrated more than seventy books which have sold over 90 million copies around the world.

A legend in children's picture book publishing, Eric Carle is best-known for the classic children's picture book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This family favourite has sold over 30 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 47 languages. In 2009, The Very Hungry Caterpillar has celebrated its 40th anniversary.

This design-driven licensing and merchandising program draws upon Eric Carle's lessons in creativity, discovery, play and learning. The style guide gives unlimited opportunities to create or distribute new ranges of products : apparel, plush, toys and game, stationery, health and beauty, arts and crafts and giftware!
