BRB Internacional: Bernard Marches On In His Successful International Career

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - March 2010

The BRB series continues conquering new frontiers while its famous star is set to make the leap to the big screen

The series Bernard is revving its engines in preparation for attending, once again, MIPTV, the prestigious television market fair to be held in Cannes, France from the 12th to the 16th of April, expected to be more robust this year than ever. The three-season series, starring the curious polar bear who travels the world without a clue as to how it works or what its rules are, continues awakening tremendous interest in many different countries: from Europe to America, the polar bear Bernard marches on in his successful run of increasing sales. In fact, his made-for-TV movie My Friend Bernard has just closed a deal with Cartoon Network for the Latin American market.

Likewise, Bernard (156 x 3’) has just been acquired by HBO for eastern Europe, Teletoon in France, MTV and Mega Sport for Ukraine, Estonian TV in Estonia, DR in Denmark, Tring Digital in Albania … and the Russian channel 2X2 has renewed its acquisition rights for the series. Also, Canal Panda, in Portugal, has recently acquired corresponding television rights.

The series, currently being sold for television practically throughout the entire world, has inspired a feature-length film, Superbernard, which will premiere in 2012. The company Screen 21 has already commenced production in Barcelona (Spain).

Meanwhile, and as a result of the growing demand for Bernard on the international market, BRB is reinforcing the brand by adding new projects and modernizing the style of the property in order to adapt it, in a global sense, to all possible markets around the world.
