NVCP is making great strides across the continents with SpongeBob and Dora

Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products EMEA (NVCP) is making great strides across the continents with SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer at the vanguard of new deals.

Prague-based Cartoon Mania, the leading licensed textile supplier in the region, has signed one of the first SpongeBob licenses in the Czech Republic. Its ranges of underwear, nightwear, T-shirts and accessories cover children aged four to ten, tweens and teens. The deal also covers Slovakia and Russia and retailers on board include Sparkys, Interspar, Ahold, and Kaufland.

Major Turkish children’s retailer Panco has signed SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer in a deal covering apparel, sleepwear and underwear. The ranges will be sold across Panco’s 68 stores.

For the Nordics, Denmark-based Nordic Game Supply has signed to produce a Dora Saves the Snow Princess game for Nintendo DS. The game will be sold via online retailer Intertoys and gaming retailers across the region.

Program Sales - Deals roll out across the globe

MTV Networks International (MTVNI) has emerged from a hugely successful MIP-TV with a swathe of new broadcast agreements under its belt. Major deals reported at the event include signing more than 40 broadcast partners across Asia-Pacific, Europe and Latin America for the number one rated CG animation, The Penguins of Madagascar. And in six new deals, hit reality format shows including A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila, The Joe Schmo Show, Hell Date and From Gs to Gents will be adapted and localised for broadcast in key markets includingAustralia, France and Italy.

In addition, MTVNI has signed a raft of brand new deals and relicenses across its evergreen portfolio.

Dora the Explorer will hit China’s CCTV screens in a new deal that takes the adorable series to the country’s major public broadcaster for the first time.

SpongeBob SquarePants is splashing his way across Eastern Europe with deals including A1 in Macedonia,Teleimedi in Georgia and Armenia TV in Armenia.

The iconic animation is also heading to Latin America with a new deal signed by Telenica in Nicaragua, plus a renewal with America TV in Peru and will air as part of a new branded block deal with TV Hondurena in Honduras.

A deal is also penned with Network 10 in Australia for the property.
