Simba Toys has signed a deal renewal for a variety of SpongeBob SquarePants summer and outdoor toys

A wave of outdoor and summer deals has been inked by Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products for the southern and northern hemispheres across the animation portfolio, with the focus on young children.

For Germany, Austria and Switzerland, long-term licensing partner Simba Toys has signed a deal renewal for a variety of SpongeBob SquarePants summer and outdoor toys. The vast range includes bodyboards, water squirters and sprinklers, wind-up boats and fishing games. The toys will sell through specialists, department stores and online retailers.

For South Africa, leading category manufacturer Buzzdi Fashions has signed a swimwear deal on Dora the Explorer for two to six year olds that will take the character to Ackermans, PnP and Edgars.

And in another >Dora the Explorer deal in South Africa, Style-Eyes of California will take outerwear toEdcon group’s Jet fascia. Style-Eyes also has a deal on iCarly, which will see outerwear launched in Jet and in Edgars.

In Turkey, Ataman is set to produce SpongeBob SquarePants wet wipes – the first time that the company has signed a licensed wet wipes deal. Ataman is the largest capacity hygienic wet wipes producer in Turkey and the Balkans, with over 400 different products on its roster.

Dora the Explorer is teaming up with Industrial Juguetera for a range of battery powered outdoor rides including bikes, scooters, tricycles, cars, plus play tents, in Spain & Portugal.

Further Iberian deals include SpongeBob SquarePants branded travelling and picnicware with leading melamine product producer NV Corporacion covering both Spain and Portugal. In addition for Spain, a partnership with K-Ractermania will see summer and beach SpongeBob SquarePants accessories launch across the market, including beach bags, belts, wallets, isothermal bags, and camera cases.
