Ravensburger: Arrive safely at your destination with Policeman Paul

Ravensburger AG - June 2010

Everyday situations on the road: two children scooting along the pavement, a cyclist listening to booming music on his headphones, romping kids on the backseat of a car. Who behaves correctly, who does it wrong? "Sicher ans Ziel" (Safely to your destination) helps 5- to 8-year-olds to observe carefully, identify situations and calculate their own position. If you get it right, you make Policeman Paul smile and he lets you pass through the town.

Just like in real life, players face different situations on the road – safely displayed on 30 two-sided picture cards. For example: A school bus is parked at the bus stop, and a few children are waiting to get on. Do they behave correctly or do they go wrong? As long as the picture card is tucked into the holder, the solution remains hidden and players have time to consider, discuss and balance. Using the police chip they reveal their decision: If the behaviour is considered right, they turn Paul’s friendly face upwards. To check their decision, they pull the card out of the holder and Paul shows his true face: He smiles! Fortunately, because he doesn’t always smile – he looks different when he sees the hustling crowd at the bus stop on the flip side of the card. Policeman Paul grants three advancing points as a reward for their right guess. The cheerful race will soon reveal who pays most attention on the road and acts carefully. However, all players enjoy themselves while they learn valuable lessons with practical relevance – and will certainly arrive safely at their destination in real life.
