Rubicon Studios has appointed Marlene Sharp to the newly created position of Director of Development; it was announced by Executive Producer David J. Corbett. As director of development, Sharp will be responsible for finding intellectual properties for the studio to develop across all platforms, along with seeking out production and co-production partners for new and existing properties. “Marlene is a seasoned development executive whose work has helped a number of intellectual properties for children realize their full potential in the marketplace. We are pleased to welcome her to our team and anticipate extensive growth for our company under her guidance,” said Corbett.

Commenting on the appointment, Rubicon CEO Randa Ayoubi said, “Marlene brings a wealth of entertainment industry experience to her new position that will support our growing team in Los Angeles under David’s leadership. We look forward to great success for our company with Marlene on board.”

Sharp joins Rubicon from Two Twiggs & A Berry Productions, LLC, where she served as Co-CEO/Producer. During her tenure at Two Twigs, she developed and produced films, television programming and games for distribution across both traditional and emerging media platforms. Prior to Two Twigs, Sharp was Producer/Manager of Distribution and Marketing at Enemes, Inc., a South Korean company with offices in Los Angeles, where she contributed to such well-know animated properties as Higglytown Heroes, Z-Squad, Da Jammies and Z-Squad.

Sharp began her career in entertainment at Renaissance-Atlantic Films as Director of Development/Producer where she was involved in the production, development and marketing of children’s television series and video games including Power Rangers, Digimon and Heavy Gear, among others. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Drama/Communications from Loyola University and earned a Master of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University.
