NCP gets healthy and beautiful

Nickelodeon Consumer Products has a signed range of international deals with partners in the healthcare and health and beauty sectors.

In Latin America, NCP has signed a number of partnerships on its classic animations in the healthcare markets including with major brands Colgate and Listerine for dental ranges.

Colgate has inked a deal covering Dora The Explorer, Rocket Power and SpongeBob SquarePants branded mouth rinse, manual and powered toothbrushes and toothpaste for children aged four to six. The deal covers Mexico, Central and South America.

For Mexico, Johnson & Johnson brand Listerine has signed iCarly to front a promotion on its Agent Cool Blue mouth rinse. Aimed at boys and girls from six to 12 years old, the point of sale triggered promotion is activated with an online game.

In a pan-European multi-property deal, Texas-based US supplier Nouveau Eyewear has signed a deal with Specsavers covering children’s sunglasses and accessories plus prescription eye frames. Nouveau’s marketing often includes purchase giveaways of other licensed items such as pencil cases and wallets.

The Specsavers deal takes in Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants. Territories covered are Benelux, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, France, UK, Iberia, Greece, Malta & Cyprus, Nordics, Italy, Eastern Europe, Turkey.

In the UK, leading sponge supplier Ramer has signed a renewal on SpongeBob SquarePants for SpongeBob and friends shaped sponges.

Through its local licensing agent Biplano, NCPI has signed two brand new deals in the Iberian market. Dirac has signed for a range of SpongeBob SquarePants branded stress dolls aimed at teenagers and young adults, and Lorenay has inked a deal for a collection of bath, shower and hair products.

In Germany, NCPI has signed Lutter for free-to-air music and entertainment channel VIVA branded hairdryers, hair straighteners, hot air brushes and lady shavers. The deal covers Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland and will be marketed through TV spots.

The Lutter VIVA range will be sold in retailers across the sectors including Kaufland, Real, and Marktkauf, Schlecker and Mueller, plus online through Amazon and Otto.
