Hot on the heels of the successful 2010 event, the 2011 Kazachok Licensing Forum is already taking shape with plans to increase exhibitors, double visitor numbers and grow the international profile of participants. An earlier show date, well before Easter and timed to fit more snugly with Bologna Book Fair and MipTV, also represent key improvements. New show features and a lower entrance fee of 45 € for the two day show also top the list of developments and changes to the 2011 event, which takes place in central Paris, March 31st – April 1st. Natalie Chouraqui, Director of Kazachok, comments: “Over the last 8 years, the Kazachok Licensing Forum has evolved from a show that focused on the French market to into a burgeoning international event with an emphasis on Continental Europe. Key objectives for the 2011 Forum include an increase in international exhibitors and around 2,000 visitors, double the number who attended this year. We are also extending the reach of our marketing and PR campaign and aim to significantly increase the number of countries represented.” New show features for the 2011 Forum will include Trend showcases which will display a selection of products, visuals, style guides and artwork as well as the introduction of Forum TV which will promote new properties and brands via sizzles and teasers, presentations and episodes on digital screens located around the show. Responding to feedback from the 2010 Forum, the 2011 event will also see an increase in pitching sessions from 25 to 36 and the conference programme redesigned to feature four key seminars lead by industry experts. Another show bonus is the reduced entrance fee of 45 € for two days. Exhibitors already confirmed for the 2011 Forum include: MTV / Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products, Toei Animation Europe, 4Kids Entertainment, Canal + Licence, Planeta Junior, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, France Télévisions Distribution, Nelvana, Ankama, Wiley, TF1 Licences, The Licensing Company, Marathon Media, Moonscoop, Gallimard Jeunesse and M6 Licences, as well as first time exhibitor, Fulanitos. “The amount of exhibitors that have already shown an interest and confirmed their attendance at next year’s Forum is fantastic and endorses its growing importance as a key event in the international licensing calendar,” explains Natalie Chouraqui. “We are well beyond exhibitor sales expectations compared to this point last year and in particular look forward to welcoming more first time exhibitors such as Fulanitos.” Based at La Halle Freyssinet, the show will once again provide an ideal opportunity for decision makers from the licensing, retail, manufacturing and marketing industries to meet new prospects, sign deals, observe and analyse emerging industry trends and latest market data from key territories. Now in its eighth year, the timing of the Forum provides a clear competitive advantage for those who participate. As the first industry specific event of the licensing calendar, it is perfectly placed between Bologna Book Fair (March 28-30) and before MipTV (April 4-8), both major events in the publishing and broadcast industries and key drivers for many licensed properties and brands. The Kazachok Forum perfectly complements both these shows and provides an ideal window of early opportunity long before Las Vegas. Overall, feedback from the 2010 show was very positive from visitors, many of them commenting on the open and approachable scale of the show as well as the unique built in social features such as the central refreshment areas, which encourage interaction and networking on the show floor. For instance Anne-Sophie Foster, Marketing & Licensing Manager for Ubisoft commented: “The Kazachok show is always very convivial thanks to its human scale size, its open booths format and the networking places such as the free refreshment areas. Meeting all our partners in a single place saves us a lot of time and gives us a European view on the international /US licences that we analyse at international level”. A burgeoning international event with a Continental Europe emphasis, the Kazachok Forum not only offers participants a European insight on international properties but it also provides a well-timed rendez-vous at the start of the licensing season. This is particularly important for Laurent Taieb, VP, NICKELODEON & VIACOM CP South, who comments: “Once more, the Kazachok Licensing Forum has given the opportunity to the French and the international NVCP teams to meet local and European partners before the other international exhibitions.” All visitors and exhibitors will enjoy free refreshments included in the registration fee, and a variety of delicious food will be available to purchase throughout the show. A VIP Cocktail party will end the first day of the event. A show guide is also given to all attendees when they arrive at the show, to help them navigate the show and get the most out of their visit.
