“The Hamster”, “The Duck” and “The Rabbit” to Make European Debut at Brand Licensing Europe 2010

Artlist Collection: The Dog, The Cat and The Pig, the visually distinct and enormously appealing photography franchise that is part of the 4Kids Entertainment portfolio of properties, has expanded with the introduction of three new super-cute animals - The Hamster, The Duck and The Rabbit - to be managed by 4sight licensing solutions, Inc., a subsidiary of 4Kids Entertainment. Along with their strong visual appeal, each of these new animals has a proven fan base as they all appear in lists of the UK’s Top Ten favourite pets, with rabbits ranking just behind dogs and cats in popularity.

The popular franchise features highly expressive and extremely charming pictures of these animals taken using a fish-eye lens. The Dog, The Cat and The Pig already boast a strong licensing programme , with an extensive list of products available across a number of categories, including plush, iPhone apps and other mobile phone games, mobile phone and mp3 accessories, online greeting cards, video games, t-shirts, nightwear, collectables, bedding, games, umbrellas, housewares and publishing.

The Dog, The Cat and The Pig have also enjoyed a great deal of activity in the promotional sphere, with QSR partners such as McDonald’s, Spar and Quick Restaurants. The brand has enjoyed additional food promotions, as well, including one with \ Nutrexpa, one of the biggest names in the Spanish food production sector, which developed an in-pack promotion in both Spain and Portugal involving Cuetara Tosta Rica Biscuits and The Dog. In Portugal Unilever Jerónimo Martins did three tasty promotions involving The Dog, The Cat and The Pig in Ola Ice Cream Shops. Ciao and Spizzico restaurants in Italy have also run a successful promotional activity that saw a free The Dog plush given away with each kids meal purchased.

“The Artlist Collection franchise is performing extremely well, and these three new additions will undoubtedly be equally popular,” said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, Managing Director, 4Kids Entertainment International & 4sight licensing solutions. “The enormous visual appeal of the franchise makes it a fantastic proposition for licensing as well as proving very successful in the promotional sector. We will be looking to build on this extraordinary record and are confident that The Hamster, The Duck and The Rabbit will all be very successful.”
