Dinosaur King Continues To Be A Roaring Success!

BRANDORA News - August 2010

Dinosaur King, part of 4Kids Entertainment International’s brand portfolio, continues to go from strength to strength with Season two set to launch on GMTV in the UK on 1st November. In addition, five new licensees have joined the programme across the UK and Europe.

First up is Signature Publishing which has joined Harper Collins as part of the UK publishing programme. Signature launched the first official Dinosaur King magazine in the UK in July in leading outlets including Sainsbury’s, Spar and the Martin McColls Retail Group. Early feedback from retailers has been positive. Also at retail Tomy, which distributes the Dinosaur King trading cards in the UK, has exciting plans as part of their marketing strategy that range from targeted competitions in kids’ press and covermounts to online and TV advertising. Over the summer there will be two-for-one promotions and live demonstrations at various stores and events throughout the UK.

More good news for young archeologists in the UK and Ireland is a recent partnership with Samuel Eden and Son to produce socks, slipper socks, sock gift sets and phone socks. These products are set to launch in Spring 2011. Also, PMS International is set to launch amusement plush, playballs and inflatable bashers and figures across Europe in Spring 2011. The amusement plush will be offered at both Alton Towers and Thorpe Park, the UK’s leading theme parks with an estimated combined figure of 4.5 million visitors annually.

More new partners include Anubis Publications which is set to launch a Dinosaur King magazine in Greece and Cyprus, and MC Productions which recently published the first hard cover comic books for distribution in France and French-speaking Belgium and Switzerland. The new partners join a growing list of European licensees, with the brand represented across a huge range of categories, including toys, home entertainment, posters, bags, collectibles, apparel, and outdoor toys.

“These latest licensees add to a strong European licensing programme for Dinosaur King,” said Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, Managing Director, 4Kids Entertainment International. “The brand is proving to be a huge success across the UK and the continent as we continue to build the programme across all categories.”
