Jeremy Poreca Appointed Director, International Retail Development, Nickelodeon Consumer Products

Nickelodeon Consumer Products (NCP) today announced two executive moves in its international division. Long-time NCP executive, Trudi Hayward has been named Vice President, Consumer Products for the UK and Australia, overseeing operations and strategy. Jeremy Poreca will relocate from NCP offices in New York to join London based team as Director, International Retail Development for NCP, responsible for expanding retail efforts. The announcement was made by newly appointed SVP of International Consumer Products for NCP, Michael Connolly, at Brand Licensing Europe 2010.

“Trudi and Jeremy’s appointments reflect directions our organisation is taking to fully leverage our portfolio and global scale through aggressive key market growth, expanded retail partnerships and holistically managed marketing initiatives,” commented Connolly. Adding, “Trudi’s international licensing leadership and Jeremy’s deep understanding of the consumer retail environment will continue to be tremendous assets as we move to accelerate our efforts in these areas.”

As VP of Consumer Products, Hayward will lead all UK and Australia licensing efforts, advancing core areas such as category expansion, property management and retail initiatives. Hayward will ensure MTVN’s extensive operation is leveraged to support greater consumer experiences and expanded partnerships. Based in London, Hayward will report to Michael Connolly on licensing strategy and Tina McCann, Managing Director, Nickelodeon UK and Katrina Southon, General Manager Nickelodeon Australia, on cross-network synergies.

In this newly created position, Poreca will be tasked with developing innovative and effective marketing, promotional and advertising programmes for NCP’s largest global retail partners. Poreca will also identify and expand retail opportunities in close coordination with Nickelodeon’s regional network and consumer product operations and licensing and promotional partners on a multi-territory basis. Poreca will report dually into NY based Connolly and Ron Johnson, SVP, Walmart Retail Development, Nickelodeon Consumer Products, who is based in Bentonville, Arkansas.

Hayward has worked in the licensing industry since 1994 for such significant players as Beanstalk Europe, Copyright Promotions Ltd and Entertainment Rights, where she set up a completely new licensing division. Hayward also has a long association with MTVNI, having served as VP, Consumer Products, UK for four years until 2007 where she established the UK licensing division and was responsible for managing a range of global relationships with blue chip brands. Most recently, since January 2010, Hayward has served as VP, European Sales where her remit covered driving the European MTV CP program, multi-territory Nick deals and direct to retail deals including C&A and ZARA. She has also been UK cluster head since January 2010.

Poreca brings extensive experience from previous roles such as Senior Manager, Retail Development for HIT Entertainment and as Marketing Manager at Random House Children’s Books. He has worked with some of the world’s largest retailers including Walmart, Target, Toys ‘R’ Us, Sears, Sears/Kmart and QVC.

Clare Piggott will be leaving her role as VP Consumer Products, Nickelodeon UK to pursue other opportunities.
