Nickelodeon Consumer Products Announces First-Ever Global Kiosk Deal With Hewlett-Packard

Nickelodeon Consumer Products - September 2010

Partnership offers consumers around the world innovative new photo products
featuring hit Nickelodeon properties

Nickelodeon Consumer Products (NCP), a division of Viacom Inc. (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), and technology giant Hewlett-Packard have formed a new global partnership to offer consumers photo products featuring Nickelodeon properties in store. The announcement was made on the 28. of September at Brand Licensing Europe by Leigh Anne Brodsky, President, Nickelodeon Consumer Products.

The agreement, which runs through the end of 2012, will enable consumers to use Hewlett-Packard technology and self-service in-store digital printing kiosks to produce creative photo products such as posters, photo cards, photo books, calendars and flip books. These items will feature some of Nickelodeon’s best-known properties including Dora the Explorer, iCarly, The Backyardigans, SpongeBob SquarePants and The Wonder Pets!

The printing kiosks were introduced in the U.S. featuring Nickelodeon properties earlier this year at Walmart, Duane Reade and Meijer locations across the country. There are plans to make them available at other U.S.-based retailers in 2011. The kiosks will launch this autumn in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK, before an extended global roll-out next year across further markets including Austria, Benelux, Nordic, France, Hungary, Italy, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey. In the UK, the kiosks will be available in major retailers including Tesco, ASDA, ACL (VAR), Carrefour and Casino while in Australia/New Zealand participating retailers include Kmart, Ted’s Camera and Camera House. SpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer and iCarly are a few of the properties featured in the first two territory launches.

Leigh Anne Brodsky commented: “This partnership is allowing us to provide a unique channel of distribution for our most beloved Nickelodeon properties. Kids can enjoy a fun interactive experience using Hewlett-Packard’s newest technology to create one-of-a-kind Nickelodeon photo images in store.”
