Kidscreen´s New Market Intel Service Offers Deep Data On Kids Broadcasters Worldwide

BRANDORA Editorial Staff - October 2010

As part of its ongoing mission to provide support to companies trying to finance and distribute television programming for children and families, KidScreen is introducing Market Intel, a subscription-based service offering exclusive data and intel about kids broadcasters operating in critical global markets.

With 24/7 online access, subscribers will be able to login and view up-to-date programming strategy profiles for more than 100 kids channels anytime they like, as well as direct contact information for key acquisitions and development executives.

Other highlight features of Market Intel include:
  • Master Schedules for 10 key regions (US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Australia, Japan and Brazil) that show what’s airing for kids by day and time slot
  • a chart detailing Average Prices Paid for kids programming by platform type, rights type and region, based on data entered by distributors into KidScreen’s anonymous License Fee Survey
  • three Custom Ratings Reports from Eurodata TV Worldwide that can be used to track how any show is performing in its time slot in one of 30 different regions

“We wanted to create a one-stop database that provides all the information producers and distributors need to get their shows greenlit and close sales,” says KidScreen VP and Publisher Jocelyn Christie. “If knowledge is power, then our Market Intel subscribers should be able to leap over tall buildings in a single bound.”

Updated three times a year in line with the broadcast cycle of schedule refreshing (Fall, January, Summer), Market Intel’s broadcaster profiles will include everything from channel basics (history, carriage, target demo, reach and competition), to current and future buying/commissioning priorities, to snapshots of what’s performing and how airtime is blocked out. The service is designed to arm subscribers with deeper information about kids networks worldwide, allowing them to connect directly and tailor pitches for specific broadcasters.

This new product joins Screening Suite on the KidScreen Connect online platform, where buyers regularly screen programming posted by producers and distributors who subscribe to the service.
