Pacific Entertainment Corporation (OTC-PK: PENT) will release six new collections of classic films and television series on DVD in January 2011 under its Best of the Best Collector’s Edition banner, it was announced by Howard Balaban, EVP of New Business Development. The initial release of seven Best of the Best titles in summer 2010 signaled the return of Pacific Entertainment’s founders to the classic entertainment DVD business. They originally founded Genius Products, Inc. and stormed into the marketplace in 2004 with a wave of high quality classic entertainment DVDs. Marketed with identifiable brands including TV Guide®, AMC® Movies and the Hollywood sign, the DVD releases claimed 14 positions among the Top 40 selling DVDs in the Billboard® Top DVD Sales™ chart published December 4, 2004, according to Nielsen VideoScan. Among all DVD sales for the week ending November 14, 2004, they took a 14% share of all units sold in the U.S. “While the DVD industry is experiencing declining sales, the marketplace continues to demonstrate strong demand for classic film and television entertainment that enthusiasts can purchase at a reasonable price,” said Howard Balaban. “We are thrilled to be back in the classic DVD business with digitally remastered and audio enhanced releases featuring many of Hollywood’s biggest stars.” SUPER HERO CLASSICS – Action-Packed Serials from the 1940s Super Hero Classics: The Green Hornet Strikes Again features all 15 chapters of the exciting serial where Britt Reid dons his mask and joins his partner, Kato, as they head into the night to track down devious henchmen.
