WINNIE THE POOH – The famous bear from Hundred-Acre-Wood and his friends finally return to the silver screen!

Disney - November 2010

On 14 April 2011, Winnie the Pooh, the good-natured bear from Hundred-Acre-Wood, finally returns to the silver screen with his own, new hilarious adventure. More than 35 years after his last major film appearance, Walt Disney Animation Studios now present an unparalleled feature film centred on the loveable bear and his best friends Tigger, Rabbit, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Eeyore, and – of course - Christopher Robin.

Inspired by five original stories by A.A. Milne, “WINNIE THE POOH” is a heartful feature film for big and small kids. The traditionally animated Disney film is carefully drawn by hand and returns to the well-loved charm and hilarious fun of the original Winnie the Pooh films. In addition to the young, dynamic directors-duo Stephen J. Anderson ("Meet the Robinsons", "Brother Bear") and Don Hall ("The Princess and the Frog”, "Tarzan"), the grand old Walt Disneys master Burny Mattinson ("Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!" - 1974) brings his years of experience as senior story artist to create a film with loveable story and the authentic traditional look. The unparalleled Disney adventure is enhanced by seven swinging songs tailor-made by the songwriters-duo Bobby and Kristen Lopez.

The story:
Eeyore has once more lost his tail. “Well a tail is either there or it isn’t there,” says Winnie the Pooh. "And yours isn’t …there." Pooh and his friends immediately decide to help Eeyore and arrange a competition to find the most beautiful new tail for the doleful donkey. But when Pooh wants to ask Christopher Robin to join in, the friends from Hundred-Acre-Wood realize that the boy has disappeared. An ominous letter let’s them fear the worst: Their friend must have been kidnapped! Owl sends the whole gang on a wild quest to save Christopher Robin from an imaginary culprit. It turns out to be “a very busy day for a bear who simply set out to find some hunny”, says Pooh.
