Plus Licens Awards Egmont As Nordic Hello Kitty Licensee Of The Year

At a Sanrio Brand Presentation and Licensee Meeting in Stockholm, Plus Licens has awarded Egmont as ”Nordic Licensee of the Year” for 2010. Plus Licens' Sanrio brand manager Petra Sedlinger as well as Stefano Mastropietro, Stephanie Raber and Hiromi Urayama from Sanrio were present along with a number of Sanrio licensees, retailers and other partners from the Nordic countries. The prestigious award was presented to Egmont's representatives by Plus Licens' sales director Eva Karlsson, who quoted from the jury’s statement:

”Egmont have created a licensing program stretching over a wide age group, from babies to young adults, and a great variety of products. Initially targeting the Nordic countries, the products have expanded into licensing programs in other parts of Europe. The licensee have created their licensing program showing creativity and ingenuity, exploiting available artwork to the fullest, and also evaluated other Sanrio characters - starting with a licnsing program on My Melody and introducing other Sanrio characters through the magazine.”

Egmont's Hello Kitty program comprises publishing and stationery as well as toys, games, puzzles and domestics. Hello Kitty magazines first launched in Sweden in fall 2008 and are now available in all Nordic countries as well as in major parts of Central and Eastern Europe. The extensive publishing program also includes storybooks, board books and activity books as well as publishing targeting tweens like school diaries.

Egmont's Hello Kitty licensing program was also covered in in the September/October issue of Sanrio's international newsletter, with a special focus on the diaries and activity books.
