International Congress WCSFP booked up: ZDF and ZDF Enterprises hosts of TV industry specialists from around the world in Dresden

ZDF Enterprises - November 2010

Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF) and ZDF Enterprises are hosting the “World Congress of Science and Factual Producers (WCSFP)” this year. This international congress, which takes place in Dresden from 30 November to 3 December, is the largest and most important event for film and television practitioners from the fields of scientific, historical and other non-fiction themes. In previous years, the congress was held in Melbourne (2009), Florence (2008), New York (2007), Manchester (2006) and Tokyo (2005). The congress, which was already booked up one week before the start, is bringing nearly 700 delegates from over 30 countries to Dresden for the branch’s top event. Leading TV broadcasters, producers, journalists, directors, authors and editors will exchange views and information about the latest trends and developments in factual programming.

In their introductory remarks, Alexander Coridass (CEO Program and Sales, ZDF Enterprises) and ZDF General Manager Markus Schächter point out that: “The TV branch is undergoing a major upheaval and the media revolution is stirring up traditional structures. Yet what’s remarkable is that in spite of all the uncertainty about the future of our medium, this congress is booming. Its success shows us that documentaries and information will perhaps be the winners of the media transformation.”
