The world’s favourite yellow sea sponge, SpongeBob SquarePants, is splashing his way across the emerging markets as a wave of new deals are signed by Nickelodeon Consumer Products International.
Major licensee C-Trade has signed a deal for the hit property covering a raft of states from Armenia to Uzbekistan via Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Ukraine.
The license is for a wide variety of sports equipment and accessories including from bicycles to ride-on cars, tennis sets to playing tents. Aimed at children from five years and upwards, the ranges will be sold in retailers including Auchan, Metro, Real, Detskii Mir, Dochki Sinochki, Korablik and Deti.
SpongeBob SquarePants will be helping to keep children’s teeth healthy in Turkey and Northern Cyprus following a renewal with Unilever for toothpaste in the region. Retailers signed up for the product include Tansas, Migros, Carrefour, Real and Metro.
Covering Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, licensee Pentra has signed SpongeBob SquarePants for a range of bags and backpacks, badges and charms, and mobile cases plus clocks, lamps, mugs and stationery. Retailers stocking the products include Auchan, Smyk and Biedronka. |
