Milan-based Atlantyca Entertainment is sending its most famous mouse-author, Geronimo Stilton, on a mission to help children learn geography as the result of a new licensing agreement with De Agostini Editori for the publication of Geostilton Partworks, it was announced by Atlantyca Entertainment CEO Claudia Mazzucco. Launching January 7, 2011 at news kiosks throughout Italy, Geostilton Partworks features Geronimo Stilton and his family in a new series of 60 collectible fascicles created to help children learn the geography of the world. Each fascicle will focus on a single country as Geronimo and his family of characters travel the world, landing in the capital or main town of that country where they will discover and report on the highlights and secrets of each nation. Written to amuse and entertain as well as educate children, every weekly fascicle will include one piece of a collectible puzzle, which upon completion will make up a globe of the world. The Partworks books were created to encourage the study of geography in an engaging, amusing manner through a series of journeys and explorations of various countries around the world, always starting out with a guided tour of the capital and major cities. All done in the company of and with the expert guidance of Geronimo Stilton and his friends, who are truly special correspondents for Fabumouse Geographic, the books are designed to inspire a passion for geography that is “fabumouse” yet very “anthropic”, a discovery of the world’s cultures, civilizations, religions and histories. Atlantyca Entertainment Director of Licensing Maria Gurrieri, who negotiated the deal on behalf of Atlantyca said, “We are honored to bring our beloved Geronimo Stilton to the doors of Italy’s publishing giant, De Agostini, to play an important role in their noble effort to introduce geography to children throughout the world. These Partworks books are simply our invitation and guide for “intelligent traveling”. De Agostini Editore Publishing Manager for the Italian Partwork Business Alessandro Lenzi said: “Geronimo Stilton is a respected figure in the world of children’s literature whose enthusiasm for learning is a perfect fit for leading the charge to get children interested in and excited about the fascinating geography of our planet.” The complete collection of Fabumouse Geographic features a series of geography filled books created from the extensive experience of the editorial staff of The Rodent’s Gazette, along with De Agostini’s expertise in geography. Drawing on the appeal of world capitals, the Partworks books offer readers attention-grabbing facts and secrets from around the world with an in-depth look at capitals and geopolitical information with insight into the country’s physical features, borders, mountains, rivers, macroeconomics, etc. The 3D Double Globe |
