Sesame Workshop Europe unveils new Sesame Street content, experiences, and partnerships across the region.
“The world’s longest street is getting even longer as Sesame Workshop expands its presence across Europe and beyond,” said Bernhard Gloeggler, Vice President and General Manager for Sesame Workshop Europe. “We’re thrilled to be working with several incredible distribution and licensing partners to create more opportunities for audiences around the world to experience the magic of Sesame Street—both on screen and in their everyday lives.”
In Germany, the 52nd season of Sesamstraße recently debuted on NDR. The season kicked off with a guest appearance from famed magician duo Siegfried & Joy, who helped Abby Cadabby cast away negative feelings. Celebrity cameos continue with an upcoming episode featuring actor and model Riccardo Simonetti, who sings a song all about self-empowerment with the Sesamstraße characters. Fans can also look forward to the show’s 3,000th episode airing on October 27, where Ernie sings a song for Bert about his new favorite number, and Count von Count even counts to 3,000. Also new this season is the podcast parody “Krümel und Keks” (Crumb and Cookie), where Cookie Monster and Dr. Cookie tackle big topics such as courage and justice—however, Cookie Monster is less concerned with these philosophical questions than with his urge to eat his host!
German fans will also enjoy three new releases from publishing house Reclam. “Ein Ratgeber für Genießer” (A Guide for Connoisseurs), Cookie Monster’s first self-help book, contains profound and charming insights—plus a cookie recipe or two, of course! Ahead of the holidays, Reclam has also released “Krümelmonsters krümeliger Adventskalender” (Cookie Monster's Crumbly Advent Calendar), featuring 24 festive postcards for the Christmas season. Rounding out Reclam’s Sesame Street collection is "Krümelmonsters Notizbuch” (Cookie Monster’s Notebook)—perfect for jotting down everyday thoughts or new tasty treat ideas. In addition, Sesame Workshop Europe recently announced a campaign with Stiftung EAR, the German foundation that serves as the central authority for the Elektro-Altgeräte Register. Sesamstraße friends Elmo, Grover and Oscar learn about recycling in two new videos created to raise environmental awareness and inform people about proper disposal for end-of-life electrical devices. The entertaining and educational videos are now airing nationwide across various TV channels, streaming services, online advertisements and social media.
A new Sesame Street channel launches next month on YouTube Iberia. The channel—Sesame Street Castiliano—will contain episodes of 175 episodes of Sesame Street, 52 episodes of The Furchester Hotel and two holiday specials, all fully dubbed in Castilian Spanish.
Looking ahead, 2026 marks the 50th anniversary of Sesamstraat. Earlier this month, Bert and Ernie were special guests at the Gouden Televizier-Ring Gala on October 16. Dutch audiences will see more surprises from the beloved brand throughout the year.
Sesame Workshop Europe also recently teamed up with popular football club Borussia Dortmund to jointly promote education, diversity, inclusion, exercise, sustainability, and health for children. The collaboration kicked off on World Children’s Day on September 21 when Sesamstraße’s Samson visited SIGNAL IDUNA PARK for the BVB vs VfL Wolfsburg game and took photos with fans. The collaboration includes a diverse range of BVB x Sesamstraße products. As the collaboration continues, a range of events and digital activities featuring the Sesamstraße characters and BVB mascot EMMA will be implemented in the BVB KidsClub for its 30,000 young club members.
Sesame Workshop recently appointed DeAPlaneta Entertainment as its licensing agent in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). DeAPlaneta will exclusively manage all merchandising, publishing, home video, audio and promotional licensing related to the Sesame Street brand in this territory.
Fans everywhere can now enjoy “Sesame Street: Neighborhood Adventures,” a brand-new Roblox experience that launched earlier this fall. In this immersive, interactive digital world, visitors can explore the iconic street – from Hooper’s Store and the steps of 123 to the community garden and laundromat. Within the experience, users can design their own Sesame Street character avatar, play themed minigames to help their favorite furry friends, watch show clips (including exclusive content), and use portals to join other Sesame Street games on the platform.
Sesame Street will also be available on Netflix. The all-new reimagined 56th season comes to the global streaming giant on November 10. The new episodes feature fresh format changes, an all-new animated segment, and the return of fan-favorites like “Elmo’s World” and “Cookie Monster’s Foodie Truck.” In addition, beginning in January 2026, YouTube will have the largest library of Sesame Street English language content with hundreds of full episodes and original videos created especially for the YouTube audience.
